Community Projects/Meetings

Ecology Sabbath:  April

This year the River of Life/Environmental Justice committee, St. Daniel's faith-based environmental Justice Committee organization will

celebrate Ecology Sabbath.  Each year in conjunction with Earth Day, we celebrate God's creation and consider our responsibility and part in being good stewards.  Please join us in the Cushing Center following Mass to view our displays and learn more about being "a Good Steward".  This year, we are focusing on "good boating practices" and "proper clean up" for our pets so that we can protect our water quality. We will also feature household hazardous products and proper disposal.

RIVER OF LIFE/ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE

Are you concerned about the future of our environment for you and your children?

Would your family like to become more informed and involved in the environment?

We may have the program for you to consider.

RIVER OF LIFE/ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE
Is a faith based environmental organization for all ages.
It was established by the Detroit Archdiocese in response to the call of Pope John Paul II
and the conference of Catholic Bishops by addressing our responsibility to be "good Stewards"
         of the earth.
We are involved in Education of ourselves and community.
We offer opportunities to attend presentations and seminars on the environment by local
          professionals.
We hold an Ecology Sabbath Fair providing educational information and simple activities for
the family to participate in around the home.
We are a co-sponsor of River Day in June.
We participate in community projects concerned with keeping our streams, lakes and rivers clean and safe.
