Eucharistic Ministers are God's Ministers to the homebound by participating
in the ministry of Jesus Christ. They offer spiritual guidance and cheerful
encouragement. The Eucharist is taken to the homebound on a regular basis. Training
is provided.
Provide Transportation

Transportation provided to Senior Citizens who need a ride to doctor, hospital,
or church occasionally.
Stitching for Babies

Ministry focuses on sewing, knitting, and crocheting baby items. Complete layettes
are donated to newborn babies of mothers in need of assistance.
HIV/Aids

World Aids Day Interfaith Service provides interfaith network training.
Thanksgiving Food Drive

Meals
of Ministry

A hot home-made meal is provided to a person or family when emergency illness
occurs. The ministry provides nurturing, nourishment and security. Volunteers
would prepare a ready- to- serve meal and provide delivery of the meal to the
fellow parishioner.
Health
Advocacy and Faith Community Nurses

Faith Community Nurses are registered nurses who serve as ministers, educators,
counselors and organizers. Their mission is to assist the local faith community
to enable members of the congregation to live full, abundant and healthy lives.
The Faith Community Nurses host an American Red Cross sponsored blood drive and a Visiting Nurses sponsored Flu Clinic annually at St. Daniel. Volunteers are needed to register registrants.
Habitat for Humanity

Youth and adults are encouraged to join Habitat for Humanity in building houses
for the community's poor.
A Building Blitz occurs annually. Training provided on site.
North Oakland Disaster Relief Team

The North Oakland Disaster Relief Team provides services to victims of natural
disasters. The disaster relief site, mode of transportation and duration of
the trip is always determined by disaster relief need.

St. Daniel volunteers host lunch at the Robert Matchen Nutrition Center the third Thursdays of each month. A car pool leaves at 8:45 a.m. from St. Daniel and returns by 2:00 p.m.
St. Daniel volunteers host dinner at the Baldwin Place of Hope Warming Center in March annually.
St. Daniel volunteers also provide overnight staffing at the Baldwin Place of Hope in March annually.
Occassionally, volunteers host lunches or dinners at a soup kitchen on a special basis. The locations and times may vary on a need basis.
Focus Hope Walk

The Focus Hope Walk is usually held the second week in October and supports the Focus Hope projects. The walk is a three mile walk in Detroit. Sponsorship forms and walker registration forms are available after Masses and during Coffee and Donuts during the week preceeding the the walk.
Coffee and Donuts

The coffee and donuts ministry offers a special hospitality that affords parishioners sharing time and an opportunity to connect and build community. Coffe and donuts are served after Sunday Masses beginning in September and ending in June. Volunteers serve one Sunday a month at the 7:30, 9:00 or 11:00 Am Mass. They help set up donuts, coffee and juice, oversee the serving line and clean up. Training provided for coffee set-up.
Welcome
New Parishioners

We greet and make new parishioners feel at home and welcomed in our parish community. A "Welcome New Parishioner" Saturday evening dinner is held annually. Invitations are sent to new parishioners, dinner is prepared, social hall set-up and clean-up is necessary.
New Parishioner Sponsors
are new parish friends who are mentors to new parishioners. New Parishioner
Sponsors invite new parishioners to Mass and parish events, introduce new friends
and acquaintances, provide tours of the parish campus, and are available to
answer questions and make the new parishioners feel at home
Men of St. Daniel

Social support and parish community building activities are provided by
the Men of St. Daniel.
The Men of St. Daniel sponsor the Pancake Breakfasts, a Graduation Breakfast, a Dinner Dance, Men of St. Daniel Golf League, and provide the chefs for the Parish Tree Timming and the Parish Picnic. Funds for the events are provided by the newspaper bins in the parking lot.Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesdays of the month, 7:30 PM. Volunteers help at the Pancake Breakfasts with set-up and clean-up.

Parishioners who are 50 years and above join together for fellowship, hospitality, support, entertainment,education, and exploration. Meetings are every Thursday morning: Rosary at 10:30 a.m.; Mass at 11 a.m., followed by a social activity.
Parish Picnic

The Parish Picnic is held annually at the end of June celecbrating the anniversary
of St. Daniel Catholic Community. Planning meetings and preparations begin in
February preceeding the picnic.

Greeting cards are sent to the homebound, the ill, active military personel,
and those who need special thoughts.
Tithing Committee

The Tithing Committee meets to discern distribution of parish tithing money to charitable organizations and agencies that meet the special guidelines and criteria of the Tithing Committee.
Environment
and River of Life

The committee researches and studies environment issues based on Christian perspective
and acts as an educational resource to the parish and the larger community.
St. Daniel Catholic Community believed that the terms of the U.S. Catholic Bishops'
percept could be satisfied by starting a project to improve the water quality
of the Clinton River because the headwater of the Clinton River are located
in the Clarkston. Lola Koch is St. Daniel Quadrant Leader.The
committee meets three or four times annually.
Respect
Life

We attempt to educate the community about pro-life issue. We meet once a month
to organize communication events. We can use people with organizational skills.
Also, we need people to assist with preparation for upcoming events. Must be
motivated to help people
Peace and Justice Committee

Two Educational Breakfasts are sponsored annually. The committee advocates
for quality of rights of individuals. That includes those peoples with disabilities,
economic and work conditions, immigrants, and social issues. Communications
with government representives is encouraged.
Used Toy Drive

Families gather gently used and new toys as donations to agencies that service children of needy families. Volunteers process, sort, and wrap the donations. The Gently Used/ New Toy Drive is in November.
Anointing of the Sick

The sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is administered to people who have
a serious illness or are preparing for serious surgery. The sacrament is celebrated
at the Thursday 11:00 a.m. Mass alternating months.
