We meet only every second month on a Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Members at large are needed to represent the parish in general, and parents to give us input on children's and youth programs.
Especially needed at this time: a parent to advocate for effective elementary and middle school formation, representing the grades 1-7 programs for Betty.
Vocations Committee

The committee encourages pursuit of church vocations, both ordained and non-ordained. A scholarship fund is available to support seminary studies in pastoral ministry and theology toward lay and ordained professions in the church.

Share your faith with children. Take an elementary class (grades 1-5) during one of the weekday time slots - Mondays 4:30 or 6:15 p.m. - Tuesdays 4:30 or 6:15 p.m. - Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Or co-teach with a friend or other volunteer. Saturday morning workshops are offered.
Training and materials are provided. What is most important is a love for children and a willingness to share your faith with young people.
Classroom Aide

Help out in a classroom. Aides may substitute for the teacher when she is absent, but not required. Aides who wish to train to become teachers often take turns with the teacher in preparing the lesson. Class options: Mondays 4:30 or 6:15 p.m. - Tuesdays 4:30 or 6:15 p.m. - Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Substitute Catechist , grades 1-5

When one of our 60+ catechists takes ill, or is otherwise prevented from teaching a class, we call the volunteers on the substitute list, hoping that someone is available to take the class. Volunteers can specify one of the time slot below if they wish. Class times are Mondays or Tuesdays 4:30-5:45 p.m. and Wednesdays 5:30-6:45 p.m.
Office Aide

Help is needed to cover the office during children's formation classes. Choose the class period that is convenient for you. Volunteers are also needed to assist with special projects, such as mailings, typing, promotional flyers & brochures, etc.
Babysitter during Formation Classes

Adults and older teens are needed in the nursery during class times to watch the children of teachers. We need two persons in the nursery at all times (legal requirement). Times are Mondays or Tuesdays 4:30 or 6:15 p.m.; Wednesdays 5:30 p.m. - for 1 hr 15 min. Or Sundays 12:15-2 p.m. during Middle School classes.
Chimes at Religion Classes

Middle School Youth Group Activity Leader

Volunteers assist as group leaders of specific activities (service activity, field trip, fun activities, a parish ministry, etc.) to provide middle school students with an experience of community or service. Volunteers may organize and supervise just one activity a year, either just fun and community, or service or in a ministry.

Groupleaders are needed for the current Little Rock Scripture Study -- to break down large groups into smaller discussion groups. Thursday mornings or Monday evenings.
Children's Liturgy of the Word

Prayer Leaders serve at one Mass, approx. once a month, leading the children out of the main assembly area to another room for a Liturgy of the Word using a version of the readings designed for children, and following up with an interactive homily. Prayer Leaders do not teach, but lead prayer and break open of the Word of that Sunday. They follow the structure of the Mass with prayer, readings, homily, prayer petitions. Important: reflect on Word to prepare for leading an inter-active homily. Training and materials are provided.

Pre-Baptism Sponsor Couple/Session Leader

Session Leaders, couples or individuals, welcome parents and godparents to the Saturday morning workshop and help them prepare for the child's baptism. Members of the Pre-Baptism Team take turns leading the sessions and usually lead or assist with a meeting every third or fourth month.
Pre-Marriage Sponsor Couple

Sponsor couples sponsor one couple a year, meeting five to six times with the engaged couple, usually in their home at a time convenient for both couples. They also schedule and conduct the rehearsal. Married at least three years. Practicing parishioners. Workshop. Books, discussion outlines and other materials provided. A training session prepares sponsor couples.
Rainbows Support Groups

Youth Camp Counselors should be 16 or older. Or sponsor a craft activity at camp, or singing around the campfire, or another specific game or activity on one or more days. Or refreshments for one evening, i.e. pizza, bananas, cupcakes, etc.
Youth Christmas Choir

Youth grades 4-7 rehearse for four weeks before Christmas on Sundays at 12:30 p.m. They sing at 4:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, before the Christmas Eve Children's Mass in the church.

Baby-sitting for Parish Meetings

Sitters are needed during Pre-Baptism meetings on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings (once a month), during Whole Community Catechesis (Wednesdays) and during formation classes and for other parish meetings. Volunteers are called on a week-to-week basis. No long-term commitment needed, just willingness to assist when you can.
Cleaning Toys in Nursery

The nursery is used during Masses, religion classes and other events for babysitting. The toys need to be washed with water and bleach to desinfect them. Could you join a work group of 3-5 persons once in a while for two to three hours to wash toys?
