Help in Kitchen for Funeral Luncheons

Funeral luncheons are a source of comfort and support from our community. People are needed to help out in the parish kitchen for funeral luncheons. Volunteers' names are placed on a roster and you would be contacted on an "as-needed" basis. All that's needed is comfort working in a kitchen and a willingness to lend a hand. Volunteers must be available during daytime hours.

Preparing a Dessert for Funerals

When a Funeral Mass is celebrated at St. Daniel's, a funeral luncheon is prepared for the family and friends. Volunteers' names

are placed on a roster and you would be contacted on an "as-needed" basis to make a dessert to serve 15-20 people. You also must deliver it to the parish kitchen in a timely manner. Basic dessert-making and food handling skills are required.

Annual "Horn of Plenty" Raffle/Auction Committee

Committee members help create and organize our only major parish fundraiser, the "Horn of Plenty" Raffle/Auction/ Dinner/Dance, held annually in November. Help your parish while having fun! Most important is a willingness to lend a hand. Fresh, new ideas always are welcome! Among tasks are obtaining auction items, selling tickets and serving as parish ambassadors for the event with fellow parishioners, friends and family.

Bulletin Inserts/Mailings

Assist in the office with stuffing inserts other materials into the bulletin or help with parish mailings. Mailings require placing labels, collating, folding, stuffing, sealing and preparing for the post office. The only needed skills are patience to finish the job and being available in the daytime.  

Experienced Photographer

Record the parish programs and the parish story for posterity.  Photographers are needed to take still photos of parish events.

The photographs are used in the media, advertisements, flyers, posters and parish history records. Volunteers should be experienced in photography and a working knowledge of digital cameras is helpful.

Help Bake at the Parish for Special Events

Bake desserts for special parish events in the parish kitchen on an "as-needed" basis. Must be available during daytime bours on weekdays or weekdays.  

Seasonal Church Cleaning

The Church space is seen as sacred space; that is, an area where the community meets their God.  Those who keep the space clean and prepared for worship, therefore, are giving a great gift to the assembly. Do you like to clean and tidy things?  If you are available in the daytime, we need your occasional help.

Help Prepare/Serve Meals for Whole Community Catechesis Evenings

Help prepare/serve dinner for periodic weekly Faith Formation programs. Cook and helpers needed. Food handling skills and comfort in the kitchen required. Must be available late afternoons and evenings.
