Baptism

Baptisms are celebrated on designated baptism weekends. Parents may choose a Mass or the 12:30 p.m. Baptism Service on those weekends. Baptism weekends are indicated in the parish calendar.

Baptism of Infants and Children under age 7 or 8:
Call the Faith Formation office at 248-625-1750

  1. Parents need to be registered members of the parish;
  2. Parents are asked to participate in an online discussion group for three consecutive weeks, asscessible on the St. Daniel website (click here...), to prepare themselves for the sacrament;
  3. Parents and family members are asked to attend a pre-baptism rehearsal on the Saturday of the baptism weekend in the Church;

The sacrament may be celebrated by pouring of water or by immersion. 

Godparents: At least one godparent must be a baptized Catholic and 16 or older. (Younger persons, non-Catholics or non-baptized persons can serve as "witnesses" in addition to a the adult Catholic godparent.) Choose someone who is will support you and the child in the faith.
